The “I Want Money Now, Money Spinner Syndrome!”

I skim many IM forums every week, and realize one thing that happens constantly…
You will see many thread titles such as this…
“How do I make at least $50 a day”
“How do I make $100 a day?”
“How can I make $5000 by next month!”
If you frequent the Warrior forum, or others, you will know exactly what I am talking about. And maybe slap your forehead each time they appear! And if you are even half decent, at this whole Internet marketing game you will know and understand one thing.
Having an IM business is great!!!, but here is the trap.
From day 1 you belong in two camps.
CAMP 1) What I am doing is really just creating a small money spinner ($100 – $1000 p/month)
CAMP 2) I have a fully fledged powerful online business and a high quality product people around the world need or even crave for ($2000 – $infinity p/month)
When I first started online I use to belong to camp 1 continuously. At the same time I wondered why I kept failing. It wasn’t until my mentor later told me that I was not creating a REAL online business. Just a little hobby farm, or what I term – money spinners, that were not really going to succeed in the first place.
Then I had one of those AH-HUH moments. And realised that I had to get serious and create something of value, and start building a list. Then I had leverage and I could build from there. It didn’t take 2 days to do. But it was constant action taking and building things slowly.
BOY O BOY did it pay off!!! I then realised money spinners were a waste of time. I was building my own virtual land, and actually helping my prospects and clients at the same time. I was creating real relationships with real people using my computer. I was working less hours in the day, but the money I was brining in was more and more prolific, as time went on.
YES! I found out that working my butt off forcing crappy $5 PLR products to people that were half interested or using the latest autoblog tool was really just a total waste of time. These were NOT real businesses at all. Just hard work, for not much money at all. I was averaging about 1-2 dollars and hour.
Work out whether you want a just a money spinner or a full on hard core IM business. I have seen people come and go, and several of my good friends fail online. WHY? they just attempt to create one little money spinner, it fails…..so they go back to the drawing board. Then even worse they have another go at something else and try to create another money spinner from scratch. Oh dear!
Swapping from shiny object to shiny object will not get any work done and will not give you results.
Take time in your business, FOCUS, build it from the ground up. Commit yourself to one thing, one niche and spend time educating yourself on your topic or whatever you are selling. Put your mind in the shoes of the prospect. Do you want to sell them a crappy report that is actually worth $5? or do you want to give them stuff that will actually change their life and give them results???
But how are you going to do this. Well….There are many options :-
1) Give them free reports pdf, videos, audio that will blow them away (get them excited)
2) Get them asking what other stuff do you have / sell ?
3) Make them look forward to receiving your emails and not just delete them like stinky spam.
4) Offer them higher priced video membership continuity programs they will say YES to!
5) Offer them offline seminars they can say YES To!
6) Offer them high priced, high value one on one coaching they can say YES to!
INSERT OWN TECHNIQUE HERE
I think you get my picture now, but it all starts with the free opt in. Then if you are actually creating a business you can add these above to your existing funnel. Especially as you are helping your clients, getting to know them better, and what sort of information the crave for.
Start from scratch and sit down with yourself and build a real online business. Not one or two money spinners that bring in $20 a week. That is not creating a business empire. It is about creating a business in a hungry niche, building a big response list that will you give valuable stuff too, that will make you money down the track, In the longer term. THEN YOU HAVE LEVERAGE to play with too. Who knows where that can take you?
Stop asking how I can make $500 by tomorrow. And start asking yourself, how can I help my list and list of buyers get the results they are after. How can I create a proper business in a hungry niche that is going to pay me when I am shopping, or down at the beach goofing off??. Do that properly, and the money will flow like milk and honey in the promise land.
Do this continuously, and be patient and you will get more than just those $500 weeks / months.
Build your business properly, and stop trying to sit in front of that damn machine and slave away for those little money spinners, the $100 a week ones. Then wake up the next day and do it over and over again. YUCK!!!
Build the foundations of a self sustainable rock sold business that brings in continual profits now, and into the future. Concentrate on one thing, then build on what you have. Have a look online and study successful businesses and their sales funnels. I have seen businesses flourish and become multimillion dollar companies from just one simple free opt in page, offering a 10 page PDF file.
Sure, it makes you think of IM in a different light eh? But this is truly one of the powerful things that changed my way of thinking and the way I make money online. I am sure it will do the same for you if you give it a try??

How A Simple Video Product Review Can BLAST Your Affiliate Earnings Into ORBIT!

I think it’s pretty well known by now that whether you do or you don’t have a product of your own to sell – Affiliate marketing can be pretty lucrative. Some marketers are making millions of dollars a year, just by affiliate marketing alone..
Top affiliate marketer Ewen Chia spent his early years trying to figure out every which way to break a million dollars a year in sales…he finally succeeded after spending 5 years of spending 4 hours a day online from 11pm – 3am whilst holding down a full time job of his own… he finally cracked the affiliate marketing code and became the World’s top earning affiliate in the early 2000′s. He know makes even more millions by making his own products, but the foundation of his marketing empire was made through affiliate marketing.
I will be revealing many of his killer tactics over the coming weeks and months but for now, I will be concentrating on today’s top strategy… PRODUCT REVIEWS…
Think about it for a moment. You get a great long email from a marketer that tells you everything about what he had for lunch or where he is in the world, and right down the bottom of the email is a link…. for further information. This then goes straight to the product sales page and you are then persuaded to BUY… I’m not saying there is anything WRONG with this. BUT.
If you have built a SOLID relationship with your list members, of course they are going to want to know about you and what you are doing… BUT.
Suppose you don’t have a BIG list, suppose you don’t have CREDIBILITY – YET! how can you get people to take action on your affiliate products, how can you get people to BUY from you?
The answer lies in the Product review. Here is one I did earlier
I prefer to do a Video product review as people tend to pay MORE attention to a Video than a whole block of TEXT.
Now as you can see, I have done a short introduction with my Flip cam, then I’ve made a video from my free 30 day trial of Camtasia. Then I’ve blended the two. Now anyone can do this., and you have 30 days to learn Camtasia and to make several product reviews pretty much for FREE.
To be a product reviewer, you obviously need to buy the product first. I know people sell affiliate products all the time without buying them first but if you can afford to buy them, you can put together a nice little video giving the good (and bad) points of the product itself. This will build both CREDIBILTY toward you as you will look to be an authority. Plus people will see the product in a very different light – BARE BONES… and all.
This is a much better way of presenting the product and alleviating any fears potential customers may have. The main worries people have when they see and click on your affiliate link (especially with an information product) is:
1) Is this a SCAM…?
2) Is this really going to WORK for ME?
3) Am I going to be able to do this?
These are all questions you can help answer by creating a visual product review.
a) They know you have the product, so IT EXISTS and can’t be a SCAM..
b) They can SEE it WORKING, so can now decide if it’s something that WOULD work for them..
c) As YOU are demonstrating the product, they can then decide if they are able to do what you are doing.
By doing a relatively short, thorough & HONEST video review, people can see the product in ACTION. They can see you in ACTION – this gives YOU credibility as someone who KNOWS how the product works and they can VISUALLY make their mind up if it is right for them..
Remember those Demonstrations in stores and exhibitions where they demo the Miracle Potato Peeler live… they also SHOW the product 24/7 on a nearby TV… now suppose they just left a leaflet on the stand or gave you a link to the website.. do you think they would sell as many? Of course not..
People love TV.. Video, done well – gives you an authority status, if people can SEE you using the product and It’s Working for you – more people will BUY and your affiliate sales will get BIGGER….
My tips for Better product reviews:
1) Spend time getting to know the product
2) Script the video so you know what to say & when
3) Be natural.. it’s not the BBC – be yourself, BRAND yourself into an ethical, believable reviewer.
4) Always be honest, If the product is RUBBISH… don’t sell it. One bad product can ruin your reputation as a marketer in one hit.
5) Always have an opt in for near your video if possible. People will always appreciate honest reviews and will always want to know how to get more of them. Make this task easy for them by giving them somewhere to opt in to your list under the video. With products like EVP2 it is now very possible to present your video review on a page with an opt in box below.
6) Include share buttons & Facebook comments below the video so people can share your reviews with their social network friends
7) Share your Video product reviews with the World. Post to video sharing sites such as You Tube, Viddler etc. Post on your Facebook Fan Page, get Digg to Dig it… get the message out there.

When you post articles to these websites you soon start to see that your website start to see some traffic from the articles you write. It will then start to increase and eventually you get more and more backlinks from more and more articles, which results in higher search engine rankings.
Simply write and submit as many high quality articles as possible and be sure to link back to the website you want to drive traffic to! The articles will drive you traffic immediately, as well as build quality incoming backlinks. The article might sometimes rank on its own in the search results and drive you some simple traffic! Try it out!
#2 – Social Bookmarking
Another way to get some immediate traffic and have this be free, is to use social bookmarking. It’s one of the most popular methods, but also one of the most underused methods of increasing the backlinks you get to your website, but also the instant traffic from the social bookmarking site itself.
Here are some of the sites I use with this method:

* Del.Icio.us
* Reddit
* Fark
* Mixx
* Netvouz
* And many more.
You want to try to include your websites keyword in order to help boost the websites search engine rankings. Try it by signing up for these services and promoting your website’s pages. Try to only bookmark valuable pages of your websites. Nothing spammy or sales will get any attention on these sites!
#3 – Yahoo Answers
If you are not aware of Yahoo Answers it’s a website that allows people to post questions and you will simply answer these questions with a good response. Then when you gain enough credibility to answer questions in the best way possible you can link back to resource pages on your website and get some immediate traffic from answering questions of targeted prospects!
#4 – Blog Commenting
Blog commenting is an effective strategy for getting more visitors. You can find high traffic blogs in your marketplace and post valuable comments, adding to the value of the post and include a link back to your website, usually in the name of your post.
Do not spam and link to your website in the actual post, but write a compelling and good answer and people will click your name anyway!
#5 – Using Blog Platforms
If you are not currently owning a blog you are putting a lot of free targeted traffic on the table. A blog is so loved by Google that you might get thousands of free visitors just by having the right blog on the Internet at the right time.
This blog can then funnel traffic to your website or whatever else it is that you want more traffic to, maybe a Hub that you have? Who knows? Either way, you can use blogs on these platforms.

I highly recommend starting at least a free blog at blogger.com with your targeted keywords in them! This method has gotten me thousands of free visitors.
#6 – Squidoo Marketing
A site similar to HubPages is Squidoo. This website will allow you to create what is called a “lens” and not a “hub”. This site is very similar to hub pages in the way it operates and the ease of use, as well as the ability to rank high in Google for your target keywords.
I’ve got tons of free squidoo lenses on the Internet that get free targeted traffic, which then funnels that traffic to my websites. I highly suggest you create a couple of lenses and start promoting your website with Squidoo, as well as HubPages right now!
#7 – Hub Pages
Hubpages - has over 100,000 people in its community ready to visit your hub, if it’s valuable enough to the visitor. So create a couple of hubs that help promote yourself or your website. Since the community doesn’t like spammy hubs, make sure you create a hub with genuine value, such as this hub. It has a list of resources and methods for going about getting traffic to your website.
These types of hubs seems to do incredibly well, so it’s time to start building your hubpage empire too!
#8 – Keyword Research
The most important thing when driving traffic is keyword research! If your keywords are not targeted to people who want what you offer it’s not going to be a match anyway. There are a few rules to think about when it comes to keyword research, some of the things include the amount of searches per month, and the competing pages in search engines.
Try to find keywords with 2,000 searches or more per month, obviously, and less than 25,000 competing pages in Google, where few are authority sites on the first page of the search engine you are targeting.
So let’s say you have 5,300 searches per month for a keyword, that might get you 0 visitors, unless you are ranked high in Google for that term, so the competition might be “100,000? in quotes.
That is too much, but if the same keyword had 5,300 searches and only 8,241 competing pages in Google you will more likely rank for that keyword! Understand? Great!
#9 – Press Release Distribution
Press Releases are free to submit on many websites. They can turn out to be a good promotional tool if you have something worthy of a news announcement. Got a new website? Release a press release about your new website, that’s simple enough! Try to target your press release to your keywords and submit it to.

* Free-Press-Releases.com
* PrLog.net
And many more!
#10 – Use Free Ads
UsFreeAds is a website that will allow you to post an ad for your website. It is like a short classified ad to help promote your website. Try it out and see that you can get some really cool results from it!
#11 – Content Is King
No matter which traffic method you are using, always remember that content is king! Content moves the Internet and the person with the best and the most content for a keyword will have the most opportunity to get traffic so create a lot of it and place it on your website, other websites and link back to your website.
Here are some of the criteria for good content:
* Valuable
* Helpful
* Interesting
* Funny
* Crazy
* Cool
And many more!
#12 – Video Marketing Sites
You don’t always have to write in order to spread your content to gain attention and visitors online! You can also use video marketing sites to get the same message across, and sometimes better than with articles or text. I use video a lot to help increase the traffic to my sites in various markets. I like to do it and it’s a lot of fun.
Here are some of the sites to submit your videos to:
* YouTube
* Google Video
* Yahoo Video
* Facebook Video
* Dailymotion
* MetaCafé
* Revver
And many more. Please keep your videos short, valuable and to the point as well. This will help people like your videos and go visit your website.
#13 – Use Facebook
Facebook is a great place to share your website. Get active in the community and talk to a lot of people in the community! Share links that are interesting, videos and photos. Join groups and create your own fan pages to help increase the visibility of your website.
I use this method a lot and have only recently started to use facebook as a serious business tool to drive traffic to my sites and it’s working wonders! Try it, you will not be disappointed!
#14 – Forum Marketing
Get active in forums and start posting good answers to people questions. Share links to your other resources that you created, articles, videos etc. Share some photos of yourself too! Join in the many discussions going on and try to establish a sense of authority and credibility in the forum as somebody who is a good valuable resource.
#15 – Create An Affiliate Program
If you have your own product that you are selling, why not start an affiliate program and have other people promote your website for you? So instead of building traffic yourself, share your methods and allow affiliates to promote your product for you. It’s a great way to get some traffic without paying a single dime!
#16 – Join Twitter
If you haven’t noticed lately, Twitter is one of the fastest growing phenomena out there right now. You will find that millions of people are sharing their messages and getting very simple things to become very viral on Twitter, so if you are not currently on Twitter you are missing a huge portion of the marketplace. So join now and start posting valuable resources and links to interesting things you find online. Sometimes you want to mention your own website and get visitors to come over and take a look. Share a lot of content and engage in conversation.
#17 – Search Engine Optimization
SEO or search engine optimization is one of the best ways to get free targeted traffic for a long time. Pick 20 or so keywords and start creating content for those keywords, build links to your website and optimize it the best for your keywords.
Some things to think about with SEO is to have your keyword in each of these elements of your page:
* Title Tags
* Header Tags
* Underlining, Bolding, Italic
* Anchor texts for links
* Backlinks
When your site is optimized in the best way possible it will start to gain some attention in the search engines and start getting free traffic on autopilot! Neat, huh?
#18 – Submit Your RSS Feeds
A great way to increase your traffic is to distribute your RSS feed to RSS distribution sites. It will help you spread your message faster and more people will find your RSS feed if it’s out there in more places than just your own website.
Some of the feeds to submit are:
* Your Blog Feed
* Squidoo Feed
* HubPages Feed
* Article Account Feeds
* etc
#19 – Directory Submission
You can go ahead and submit your website to various directories online that have resources and links to websites. This will help increase the amount of backlinks you get to your website and thus increase your SEO. It will be hard to get too much traffic from these on their own, but you do get some SEO benefit!

* DMOZ
* JoeAnt
* WebWorldIndex
#20 – Networking With Others
One of the best ways to drive more traffic is by aligning yourself in strategic alliances with other successful webmasters in your niche. You can exchange links, email lists and a lot more. This will allow you to have access to a lot of leads, say you know 10 people with 10,000 people on their lists… It would open you up to 100,000 new prospects immediately!
See how powerful these relationships can be!
#21 – Use Digg.com
Another site you might want to consider networking on and driving traffic with is Digg.com. It will allow you to post news for your niche and people can come vote on your content. Your content will then get seen by others in the Digg.com community and you will get more diggs that will lead to more traffic. It can get really viral if you have something of good value and post it to Digg.com!
#22 – Be Bold And Daring
In order to attract people you will need to be a little bold and daring. The more over the top you are, but deliver good valuable stuff the more people will feel attraction towards you. Some of the most successful people are very bold and daring. They speak their mind so don’t be afraid to be a little animated when you go about your content or whatever!
#23 – Encourage Interaction With Your Visitors
When you post a blog post for example. Ask people to interact with you and leave comments. Have them interact, engage and help you improve your site. This helps show that you care about your visitors and will attract more of them!
Help make it easy for your visitors to share your content by providing “share this buttons” and other “sharing abilities” on your site.. Make it easy for them to share your stuff!
#24 – Join, And Get BUSY In The Warrior Forum
When you are honestly active in a forum you are always providing great information and you continuously build your credibility to become one of the authorities in your niche.
I’ve use these methods and this forum to drive thousands of visitors, how? It’s because it’s full of targeted people, then I place good valuable content in front of them.
The best part is that you don’t have to pay a single penny for the visitors you attract. You’ll become an internet marketing magnet that immidiately catches the attention of your prospects and sends server crushing traffic for free!
