How I Finally Made Money Online – My Back To Basics Affiliate Marketing Blueprint
By Mark Shpuntov
I feel like most people just keep on learning new techniques, new strategies, and new systems, and never end up making any money because they never stick to one system.
It’s not difficult to make money online, as long as you put the work in every day for 2 months or more. Here’s a blueprint for you guys to follow…
Starting over can be great! Get focused, and decide to put in the work and you WILL succeed.
Here’s a plan you can apply for your affiliate marketing.
1. Choose a product to promote. Let’s say from clickbank. I’ve used clickbank for many promotions, and I like the variety of products on there. Choose a product which fills a NEED. Something that solves a deep, urgent problem. I personally feel you will get better conversion if the topic/ problem is a painful one. (Versus just a hobby or something with weaker emotional triggers..) Think diseases, emotional pain, maybe something you or your family/friends have experience with…
Make sure the product looks professional, and the copy/salespage is good enough that you would buy from it. Make sure that you FEEL that this product would actually solve the problem it sets out to solve (Don’t promote crappy products, they won’t sell…)
2. Keyword research. Use google keyword tool if you don’t have any paid tools. Brainstorm different variations of keywords people might type into the search engine. Try to go for BUYING keywords, not RESEARCH keywords.
IE. Cure Migraine Headache Naturally(buying) VS. Migraine Symptoms(research)….
Dig deep, go for longer keywords/phrases. Look for a keyword that gets searched more than 100 times/day on EXACT match.
Check to see how many sites are competing for that keyword by typing into google:
inurl:”keyword”
intitle:”keyword”
Also search for your keyword without quotes, and take a look at the first and second page results. Notice if there are any Exact Match Domains.
Take a look at how many backlinks each site has (links to the page, not to the domain), and the PR of the sites. Use SEOQuake for this…(Firefox plugin)
4. Once set on the main keyword, buy an exact match domain. Buy .com .net or .org
If not available, buy domain with suffix. IE. MigraineCureSite.com
Get Hosting at hostgator. (Not the lowest plan, but middle one)
5. Next, install wordpress. Keep the default 2010 theme. Download xheader for free. Create a header and upload it to the theme. Install all-in-one-seo plugin on wordpress, and fill it out with your KWs.
6. Make first post on blog targeting your main keyword. This post should almost be a sales/recommendation post for your affiliate product. Make the post useful, share a story, but also make sure you promote and highly recommend the affiliate program that will solve their problem.
Make sure you add the links for the affiliate program in a visible place. Add 2-3 instances, and make sure at least one is right at the top of the post. Make sure you include your keyword in the title of the post. Also include the keyword in the opening paragraph, last paragrah, and spread in between. Also bold one instance of the KW, underline another instance, and Italicize another instance.
Add a picture at the top or middle of the post, and add an ‘alt’ tag with your keyword in it. (google if unsure how…) Publish the post, and make it a sticky.
7. Next, go back to the google keyword tool. Use the tool to gather as many keywords as you can that relate to you main product/keyword. Write them down in notepad and save it. These will be the keywords for your articles/posts.
You don’t need to research competition for these… Try to get around 100 keywords.
8. Sign up to Ezinearticles, GoArticles, Article Dashboard, WordPress.com, Blogspot, Hubpages, Squidoo.
9. Write an article around 500 words about your main keyword. Make sure you put in helpful tips and don’t be salesy in the article. Post this article to Ezinearticles. In the resource box, put a link to your site and use the main keyword as your anchor text
10. Write another article, same KW. Submit it to Go articles.
11-15. Write 4 more articles focused on your main keyword. Post these to the remaining sites, one each….
16. Save the URL of each web property/articles for further bookmarking/linking….
17. Use social marker to bookmark using only the top sites, book mark your blog and all of your properties. (Bookmark each one after you create it, don’t bookmark them all at the same time/same day…)
18. Get Angela’s + Paul’s Backlinks. These are profile backlinks, use these to backlink each one of your new properties.
19. Now that you’ve done all of this for your main keyword, start the process over for the next keyword on your list.
(Write 1 article – post on your blog – social bookmark – use backlink packet on the post url not on main domain)
The process is pretty much write article, post on property and link back to your site, social bookmark it, use backlink packet on it. Repeat for all different properties. Then continue on and repeat with a new keyword.
Don’t overthink it, Articles will bring you traffic so use them!
Spend all of your time creating content for every keyword in your niche, and you’ll end up dominating your niche and making great money!
Sorry if some parts aren’t clear, I was getting tired writing this in one go… I know I’ve skipped out on lots of details, but with this and Google Search you could pretty much figure everything out on your own…
I hope you guys benefit from this, don’t think too much, just take action and do the work. The whole point is that there’s LOTS of methods to make money online, but you WILL NOT make any money unless you commit to taking one method and saying to yourself, “I’m going to do this everyday until I make money with it. I will not stray from it, I will not stop until I make money with this method!”..
In reality, if all you did was write 10 articles each day focusing on different keywords in your niche submitting them all to ezine articles, and point the resource box to your site, you would be able to generate major traffic, and lots of sales!
WORK WORK WORK!!!

How a Few Minor Tweaks to Your Article Marketing Campaigns can Sky Rocket your Profits

How a Few Minor Tweaks to Your Article Marketing Campaigns can Sky Rocket your Profits
By Paul McCarthy
This is all about making money with articles…Something that was easy back 10 years ago, but somewhat harder now that every man and his dog have cottoned onto the whole “bum marketing” method originally coined by the legendary Travis Sago.
For those of you who are new to internet marketing, “Bum Marketing” is all about writing articles for article directories such as http://www.ezinearticles.com with either a link to a landing page that presells a product, or a link straight to the product page itself through a Top Level Domain.
Of course, you are affiliated with said product and “make bank” when somebody reads your article, clicks to the sales page and makes a purchase.
The beauty of this system is its simplicity. Pretty much anyone can do it and can get started within the hour. It’s not difficult at all.
That said, many people fail horribly with this method….And, yes, I’m speaking from personal experience here. You’re reading an article from someone who managed to write his first 50 odd articles without return; something that I tend not to shout too loud about!
Yet now I can write an article and guarantee an excellent return. In fact, one well placed article can easily earn in excess of $100 per month.
So the question is, what separates those who are banking from those who are wasting their time? Or, to put it a different way, what do I do differently now that I didn’t do back when I was wet behind the ears?!
I’ve added below my war notes from being on the article marketing front line and failing many times over! If you’re new to article marketing, definitely pay attention to these points, because they’ll probably save you a lot of time and you’ll make a return where others are unfortunately failing:-
1. Commercial Intent is Everything
Snap up the low hanging fruit. Herein lies probably my biggest error.
By targeting key phrases such as “how to …….” or “ways to ……” I managed to attract a lot of traffic. But only a very small portion of those visitors had credit card in hand ready to make a purchase.
End result – A massive load of “hops” (otherwise known as sales page impressions on Clickbank) but hardly any sales with a very low EPC (Earnings per Click). They say a picture paints a thousand words:-
You can see why I was finding it hard to make any real money with article marketing at the start. Now I focus on key phrases that I know have a significant amount of commercial intent attached to them.
Sometimes you just know through intuition if a keyword has commercial intent attached to them. A typical example of this type of keywords is : “product x review” or “product x coupon”.
This is clearly a keyword that is searched by someone right at the end of the buying cycle who is looking for reassurance or the best deal for a product that they’re already thinking about buying.
The issue is that these keywords are very competitive because they are the lowest of the low hanging fruit. So, sometimes you have to move back up the buying cycle slightly to find keywords that are less competitive but still have a decent amount of Commercial Intent attached to them.
As everybody seems to love the acne niche, an example might be “Benzoyl Peroxide Products”. This is a keyword that is relatively uncompetitive and has a significant amount of commercial intent attached to it.
Of course, if I’m not sure, there are a few checks that I can do…
Firstly, I’ll go to the Adwords Keyword Tool, add the column that shows estimated cost per click and have a look at the prices. “Benzoyl Peroxide Products” currently shows the average CPC to be £2.55 – which is high.
Compare that to “how to clear acne naturally” which is currently £0.04 per click.
Here’s something important: Many brands will actually pay decent prices to have their names displayed for non-buying key phrases because brand exposure increases the likelihood of a purchase further down the line. This means that CPC is not a great metric to use on its own – it’s just one piece of the jigsaw.
Certainly if a keyword is 0.04p per click there’s no chance I’d ever write an article targeting that key phrase. It simply won’t pay (unless, of course, you’ve stumbled across an obscure buying keyword that not many people have recognised, which is pretty unlikely).
If the CPC is decent (certainly over $1.50 per click) then I’ll investigate further.
And that brings me onto the Microsoft Online Commercial Intent tool. Here is a tool that has been created to give us an idea of the commercial intent of a keyword. It’s not 100% reliable, but it can help give us an idea.
Anything over 0.75 on the scale is a good sign.
A keyword that gets over $1.50 per click and more than 0.75 on the OCI tool is likely to convert nicely.
2. Understanding what the Market is Really Hungry For
If you spend any time analysing the acne industry, you’ll notice that the vast majority of people searching for ways to cure their acne are looking for physical products and not an e-book from Clickbank.
They want some magical wipes or pills that will cure their acne – not information.
If you try and sell an e-book without targeting a group of people who are predisposed to purchasing information then you’ll have little success.
Analysing Google ads is a great way to figure out what everyone else thinks your market is looking for. Type “how to clear acne” into Google and you’ll see that every ad is for a physical product. You’ll also note that there aren’t many ads (warning sign = not a buyer keyword!).
Conversely, type “Benzoyl Peroxide Products” in and you’ll be loaded with ads. This is another good sign!
3. Don’t Sell. Presell
Selling and preselling are two very different things. If you’re going to have a landing page to send people to once they’ve read your article then you need to create a presell page that warms people up to the point of purchase.
This means providing valuable information. Not hyped up headlines.
Here’s something to note about consumers – they hate to feel like they’ve been influenced. And they always want to feel like they’ve made the decision to buy based on unbiased information.
The moment they feel like they’re being sold to during a product recommendation they’ll realise your hidden agenda and drop your site like a bad habit.
It’s the vendors job to sell. Your job is to make them feel like they’ve been genuinely recommended a decent product (which should be true, anyway!)
4. Get your Articles Ranked
…And yes, this involves backlinking.
This is going to get people all up in arms because you’re building backlinks articles that sit on other people’s sites. And some internet marketers really hate doing that because it’s not your asset.
They’re right – but simplicity is the name of the game here. And you’ll get your articles ranked faster on an article directory than starting a site from scratch – so that’s why I recommend it to beginners.
Simply put, your articles will only bring you targeted traffic if they get visitors from the search engines. And to get your articles listed highly in the search engines you need to build link popularity to them.
Backlink your articles and track their ranks. If your article is not in the top five results for your key phrase then you’re pretty much wasting your time.
5. Stick With Winning Niches
You’ll find that certain campaigns will perform better than others. For goodness sake don’t make my mistake and continually delve into new niches. If you find a winning niche – stick with it and scale it up to new heights by writing more articles and building a list!
Focus on what’s proven to work than guessing what might work in the future. It makes perfect sense, but, stupidly, I still didn’t made the mistake of starting from scratch all the time!
And there you have it…
These are the five ways that I guarantee a return on each article that I write.
I imagine that a few lightbulbs are coming on for some of you who are reading this. If so, then fantastic, because it took me months of failing to figure out where I was going wrong and I want you to bypass this struggle!
I’d love to hear about your experiences with article marketing, too. Drop your comments in the box below and I’ll be sure to respond…

10 Ways To Get Free Traffic To Your Website Or Blog

Here are 10 ways to get traffic to your Website or Blog
1) Create a SQUIDOO lens. Get FREE traffic by linking your Squidoo lens back to your Website or Blog. You can do this by adding your articles, then adding appropriate links.
You can also add your Website’s RSS feed to your Squidoo Lens. Create as many free lenses as you want and even add your affiliate banners and links to them.
I use Squidoo’s revenue share system by adding their Amazon & eBay modules for a 50/50 commission split. You will also receive commission on their Google Adsense ads. You can of course add your own links to Amazon & eBay & you can add links to your PPC & CPA offers if you wish. Overall, Squidoo lenses rank quite well on Google, if you optimize them properly with lots of good quality keywords. Don’t forget to include your keyword in the title of your lens.. You can also add as many tags to each lens as you want – Score 10/10
2) Facebook Fan/Like Page -Traffic Swaps – Nowadays you can exchange just about anything, traffic is no exception. I’m not talking about untargeted traffic through dubious Ad schemes. I’m talking about contacting the owners of similar Facebook Fan/Like Pages or groups and offering to mention their Fan Pages either/or on your own personal wall or on your own Fan Page. Also you can mention their Fan page to your Facebook friends in exchange for them doing exactly the same. Always set your Fan Page Welcome tab to default view – this should contain your list opt-in details. A perfect way to get targeted traffic, all for free. Score 9/10
3) Blog Sharing – You can syndicate your Blog to automatically appear on Facebook whenever you publish a post, this is done through a free system called Networked Blogs - your post can also be syndicated to your Facebook Fan/Like page, old style Facebook Group & your twitter accounts. When Network Blogs syndicate this, this will create an instant burst of traffic to your Blog as it will appear on your wall – for all your Facebook friends to see. You will also go viral as viewers through networked Blogs are given the option to share, comment, vote or tweet it on Twitter. Score 9/10
4) YouTube – Video Marketing. Creating free videos that have useful content is a great way for creating a viral traffic share system. what I mean by this is if you create a useful video, for example – “How to Clean Up Your Desktop – people can relate to this video, as plenty of people have messy desktops. They will find the information in the video useful and pass it on if, actively encouraged to do so. How do you encourage people to do this for you?
a) Provide great, USEFUL content.
b) ASK Them to pass it on… yes, believe me this works. If you use Camtasia, put a slide in the last few frames of the video saying something like “If you found this Video useful, why not pass it on, I’m sure your friends would love to know how to ” Keep their desktops clean“, or whatever it is you make your video about. don’t forget to include a visual link to your website in the last few frames (if you have Camtasia) and a click-able link on You Tube to show underneath the video (very important).
If you don’t have Camtasia, don’t worry – I have made over 30 videos just using a cheap FLIP Camcorder just speak the words… “If you found this video useful, please share this video with your friends”, into your camcorder, in the last few seconds.
Put your videos on You Tube, Facebook, also share on other Social Networks including the many video sharing sites. Score. 8/10.
5) Guest Blogging - Find highly ranked, high traffic Blogs (Check Alexa) in your Niche, contact the owners and ask them if you can submit a Blog post, tell them how beneficial your unique content will be to their readers… By the way, we use Guest Bloggers all the time. It’s good for us as we have many varied articles by different authors, and it’s good for the person who guest Blogs as they get links back to their Website or Blog. Score 8/10
6) Forum Marketing – This is often overlooked as a viable traffic method but when used correctly can bring you almost INSTANT results.. Offering USEFUL advice in reply to a person’s post in a thread that you have some working knowledge of can, providing you have a click-able signature set up – produce another great source of free traffic, especially when used in high traffic forums such as the Warrior Forum. Don’t just post a simple “good post” in reply to a post. – actually try to solve the person’s problem, this will also attract comments to your reply, just keep replying to the replies and the thread will grow & grow and the views to your signature will follow suit. Score 7/10
7) Blog Commenting – Again, go for high traffic Blogs, post useful comments in reply to a specific post. Your replies should offer a good insight into the content of the original post. use good keywords in your reply . Leave your website address in the post & comment regularly. If your comments are useful, the blog owner may end up contacting you in the end to act as a guest Blogger.. Keep the comments coming, people love comments, if they are good – people will click your link and want to know more about you. Score 7/10
8) Create FREE Reports & Give them Away. create a free report on an in demand topic, this could be a short report of just a couple of pages or more. Convert it into a pdf file (read with adobe), and share it. By creating free reports of value and linking them back to your Web Page or Blog, you will get traffic, you can also encourage people to share your free report with friends via email. I do this with free reports containing affiliate links, it does work. Score 7/10
9) Only Wire – I use Only Wire to distribute my Articles, Videos & Blog posts. Only Wire is a down-loadable submission tool which is free and you can submit your content to up to 42 different Social Network sites in a matter of seconds (you need to join the sites you want to submit to) - Score 7/10
10) Link Exchange – Approach the owners of high traffic Blogs & Websites to exchange links with you. They can only say no. Some will, some won’t. You never know if you don’t try. Score 7/10
